Carlsbad Dog Days Recap

DogDays_debroni

Our Carlsbad Dog Days of Summer was a unique two-part event for local dog lovers that consisted of a Dog Contest followed by a Dog-themed Scavenger throughout Carlsbad Village.

The Dog Contest

We had 15 different contestant entries in 5 categories: Cutest Dog, Ugliest Dog, Best Human-Dog Look-a-Like, Best Human Dressed as a Dog, and Best Trick.  Miss Teen West Coast and Miss Junior Teen West Coast came out to help judge the contest and present prizes to each category winner.  Wesco Pet Supplies also provided generous swag bags filled with wholesome samples for contestant participants.

The Scavenger “Dog” Hunt

C3 teamed up again with Chris Geirman of Frogquest.com to bring a fun and interactive photo-based scavenger hunt to Carlsbad Village.  The hunt turned out 70 people and 20 dog participants.

C3 Cares

Rescued_dog_Tundra_1409423375256_7629040_ver1.0_640_480C3 donated money from Dog Days of Summer to Tundra, a pit bull who was duct taped at the mouth and left to starve to death. He was rescued by Carlsbad’s City Councilman Keith Blackburn who volunteers for a non-profit called It’s the Pits. You can meet Tundra here. Please send him your love and make a donation. He is still in critical condition.
